Travel Tips
#1 - Don't leave home without insurance!
I offer Manulife products:
- All Inclusive Package Plan
- Non-Medical Inclusive Package Plan
- Trip Cancellation & Interruption Plan
- Global Medical Under Age 60
#2 - Do online check-in when you can as it saves time at the airport/pier. Know where your travel documents are and make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months after your return date.
#3 - Don't forget your meds. And if you are prone to motion sickness, bring gravol, Bonine or Ginger capsules. If going to a foreign place, may be a good idea to bring some of your own brands you trust and know like Advil and Tylenol. And don't forget the sunscreen and bug spray!
#4 - Sanitize your hands often. You are finally on vacation, you don't want to get sick now.
#5 - Set realistic expectations. Are you travelling with kids? Be prepared to take breaks often. Go back to the room for naps and much needed rest. Kids need down time so don't over-do it. Unhappy kids makes a very stressed out Mommy. Being out all day or in the sun will tire out children faster than at home. Parents will be tired too.
#6 - Plan and prepare accordingly. This is where I come in. A good travel planner will have done a lot of the legwork so all you need to do is just enjoy.
#7 - Bring distraction items for the kids such as coloring books, iPad (download some games or videos ahead of time) and/or music player. Airport line-ups, plane rides and bus transfers require kids to stay put so best to bring some things with you to keep them entertained.
#8 - Prepare for worst case scenario. There's nothing worse than losing track of your child in a foreign place. If they are old enough, teach them a few things that will help identify you or them. My daughter learned my cell phone number by singing it as a song.
